Asian Food

Importer, Wholesaler & Distributor

Wismettac, Pan Asian specialists, has five European businesses, which import and distribute ambient, frozen and chilled products.

We sell over 8,000 authentic and innovative Japanese and Pan Asian products to restaurants, wholesale and retail outlets across North America, Asia and Australia.

Our Global Origins

Our parent company, Nishimoto Wismettac Group, previously known as Nishimoto Trading Co., Ltd., was founded in 1912 in Kobe, Japan as a food importer and exporter.

Since the company was founded, we have remained committed to our core principle of supplying Japanese and Pan Asian food to the world – and we have expanded on this principle by focussing our efforts on increasing the access and understanding of Pan Asian cuisines across the world.

What are Pan Asian Cuisines?

Here at Wismettac we define Pan Asian cuisines as those coming from the following countries, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.  With Pan Asian foods in strong growth and the European market valued at over £23 billion, now more than ever is the right time to embrace this growing food trend.

Mintel predicts a further 13% growth of Pan Asian cuisines by 2024, with authentic and innovative ingredients growing quicker than ready meals. Korean food in particular is fast becoming mainstream, with over 19% of consumers having eaten it in 2023, an increase of 4% since 2019.
